Post-Men

Much I could say, said the seeress,
of the gods’ choice of end.

Odin shall speak with Mimir’s head.
Brothers shall fight, cousins shall bed,

killing kinship the other way.
No man will be spared by another,

which is to say no man will spare himself.
Hard is it in the world!

The giantesses shall flee, their big thighs
slipping below the horizon,

the light with them.
An axe age, a sword age (things

shall be split), a wind age, a wolf age (before
the world sinks).
